McLeod Safety and MADD Canada Join Forces to Make Our Roads Safer

//McLeod Safety and MADD Canada Join Forces to Make Our Roads Safer

McLeod Safety and MADD Canada have begun working together, as a part of Project Red Ribbon in Atlantic Canada, to remind people of the importance of always driving sober. Project Red Ribbon runs from November until January, a time of year when people find their social calendars busy with holiday parties and events. The risk of impaired driving is especially high during this season.

“Every year, between 1,250 and 1,500 Canadians die in impairment-related crashes. Every one of these crashes is preventable,” says MADD Canada National President Angeliki Souranis. “Our red ribbon reminds everyone that they have the power to stop impaired driving”.

As Nova Scotia’s largest traffic control services company, McLeod Safety understands the critical importance of road safety. As a part of their commitment to making our roads safer, the company will be providing training to their over 300 employees to teach them how to recognize and report impaired drivers.

The easily identifiable fleet of McLeod Safety trucks will be decaled with MADD Canada stickers to show their support. Additionally, McLeod Safety has committed to equipping the Nova Scotia Chapters of MADD Canada with traffic control supplies from the company’s safety supply division, including signage and high visibility workwear, for use at their traffic check points.

“Our focus is on safety. It’s fundamental to who we are as an organization, the type of people we hire and the way we operate,” said Ron McLeod, Founder of McLeod Safety. “It’s our pleasure to support MADD Canada in spreading their message to help reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads, and to keep our employees, our families and our communities safe.”
